Protoje - Ancient Future

Protoje - Ancient Future

Booyaka Shot!  It's here, it's out.  The New Protoje album titled: "Ancient Future" produced by Winta James.
I was able to catch Protoje perform with the Indiggnation Band as part of the Chronixx - Dread & Terrible West Coast Tour.  Let me just say this, I would have paid what I paid for the show, just to see Protoje.  The band, the back up sistren singers and Protoje with his own style, owning di stage.  Fyah!
For this album the yardi went back to yard to write most of his album.  The same place where he dreamed as a young boy to do music.  The album continues the trend of the previous other 2 of partnering himself with top notch current artist.  The list includes: Mortimer, Chronixx, Sevana, Jesse Royal, & Kabaka Pyramid!
The feel of the album has different eras of reggae.  From Ska, to present Steppas Jah Soldier riddims.  There is even a lil Hip Hop boom bap sprinkled in there which he says comes from his love of Hip Hop.  Protoje expands on how he flipped Slick Rick's "La-di-da-di we like to party" to "La-di-da-di we nah join no party" talking about Jamaica's 2 political parties.  On a scale of 1 thru 5 considering it has one of the biggest anthems "Who Know's" Featuring Chronixx and ends the album with Bevel Rock's own Kabaka Pyramid, Im going to have to give this a solid 5 General Stars.  Here's the link to cop it and support right now: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/album/ancient-future/id962614411
I'll leave you guys with a small interview/documentary about the project.  Enjoy.
"I'de rather be spiritually attained than critically acclaimed" - Protoje
